Inn at the Canal Policies

Check-in begins at 3:00 pm. At that point, keys will available in the lockbox next to the front door. Guests will receive the code to the box the day before check-in. This will allow for self-check-in. Early check-ins may be purchased on the Inn's website. Check-out is 11 am. Late check-outs may be purchased on the Inn's website.

Check-out is 11 a.m.  Late check-out at noon can also be also accommodated for an additional fee based on room availability.  You can reserve early check-in or late check-out when booking on our website innatthecanal.com or over the phone.

Alcohol: Per State of Maryland regulations, guests cannot bring alcohol from their room or other sources into the Rummur Lounge or the outside Rum Garden.  Guests are welcome to enjoy their own alcohol in their rooms.

Children: There are limited accommodations for children. Please call to make special arrangements.

Pets: We love pets and genuinely regret that we cannot accommodate them.

Smoking: For safety reasons and due to the age of our inn, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, in the Inn, or on the grounds. Lit candles and any other flames are likewise prohibited. We will enforce a room-cleaning fee of $250 for guests who smoke anywhere on the property.

Damages: Additional fees will apply for lost keys, excessive wear and tear in the room or missing property.

Deposit & Cancellation Policies:

When you reserve a room with the Inn at the Canal, the inn agrees to hold that room for you, turning away others and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you stay. With only 7 rooms available, your reservation is very important. If you find the need to cancel I will make every attempt to re-book your room, however, please note the following:

Deposit: The reservation is secured by your credit card. The full amount of the reservation will be due 13 days prior to check-in. 

Cancellations: If you need to cancel for any reason, our policy is as follows: If notified more than 14 days prior to arrival, a $35.00 cancellation fee will apply. NO EXCEPTIONS. For cancellations within 14 days of your arrival date, 100% of the reservation amount will be charged to your credit card. Refunds are based on our ability to fully re-book the accommodation.

Weddings: Special restrictions apply to reserved wedding blocks. Please call us to discuss.
