Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a Different Way with a Unique Getaway
The Inn at the Canal, circa 1870, is a unique and intimate seven-room bed & breakfast located on the banks of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Retaining many original features, the Victorian residence is the largest and most ornate on the street.
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the innkeeper is hosting a private VIP Lounge Party on Saturday, March 14 and you’re invited! Limited to 30 guests, the event is $25 per person and features an appetizer bar, an O'Hara Irish coffee and one Pot O' Gold scratch-off Lotto ticket. From our front porch, you’ll have exclusive viewing access to Chesapeake City’s annual St. Patrick's Parade beginning at noon and the wild and crazy Pub Crawl. The Party will take place in our new Rummer Lounge, which allows our guests to relax and have drinks by the water. A full-service bar with wine, beer and spirits, the cocktail menu features a variety of specialties made with a unique assortment of rums from around the world.

You may be interested to know that the tradition of wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day was born from an Irish legend that green made you invisible to leprechauns, the classic fairy tale creatures who’d pinch anyone they could see. To this day, wearing green honors Irish ancestry, represents good luck and is the color of Ireland’s national emblem, the shamrock.
For each petal on the shamrock,
This brings a wish your way:
Health, good luck, and happiness,
For today and every day.
