Celebrate Christmas at Winterfest All Season Long

Chesapeake City’s month-long Victorian Christmas, Winterfest, is a celebration that takes place on both sides of the C&D Canal and is guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit. View shimmering holiday lights and light shows reflected off the water of the canal. Stroll along to hear carolers, see the beautiful homes competing in the decorating contests, and visit the charming shops and restaurants. Look for the Winner signs of the House and Business Decorating Contest; judging is on December 8th.

On November 21st, Chesapeake City’s Winterfest Ice Skating Rink opens for the season. The synthetic ice rink overlooks the canal for a scenic and romantic location for some winter fun and recreation. Admission is $7 per person with or without skate rentals. The rink’s hours are Fridays 4-7PM with live entertainment, Saturdays 2-7PM, and Sundays 2-6PM. Date Night at the Ice Rink takes place on December 4, 11, and 18; couples receive a $10 coupon for a Chesapeake City restaurant and the Friday night DJ takes requests.

Carolers will walk the town on December 5, 12, and 19 starting at 3PM. Stop and sing along or let the background music fill you with the holiday spirit. You can also take a carriage ride, available from 2-4PM on December 5 and 19.

The Candlelight House Tour is one of the best happenings during Winterfest. Tour many of Chesapeake City’s decorated homes in its Historic District.
