Autumn Apple Picking at Milburn Orchards

When you visit the Inn at the Canal this fall, make sure Milburn Orchards is one of the attractions on your must-do list. Visitors can hand pick and enjoy nature's delicious treats while taking in the beautiful fall foliage along Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Apple picking season at Milburn Orchards runs from Labor Day weekend through early November, with different apple varieties ripening at different times during the season. Sure, you can get the ubiquitous favorite Red Delicious apples, but why not go out on a limb and try something new like a Mutsu, Bazooka Gold, Orange Honey or Stayman Winesap. Or even Milburn Orchards' own Sweet Zoe. Reservations are required for apple picking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Your U-Pick Apple Adventure begins with a wagon ride into the orchards, where the dwarf apple trees are ready to harvest, meaning the fruit is conveniently reachable from the ground.

When you're done picking apples, be sure to enjoy all that Milburn Orchards has to offer. Don't leave without stopping in the Farm Market and Bake Shoppe to take the deliciousness of the farm home with you. Locally grown fruits and vegetables, scrumptious homemade pies, fresh bakery items, jams, honey, and so much more are ready to excite your taste buds at Milburn Orchards. One of their signature products is fresh apple cider, made from several varieties of tart and sweet apples, and blended for that special flavor found only down on the farm.
